Scariest thing about dating? Ends in two ways: Get married, or break up.
It is a travesty when two hearts, at different intervals in life find each other. Although they would otherwise be perfect for one another, they can’t be together for the timing isn’t right. To me, it’s better to break you own heart by leaving, rather than having that person break you every time you are with them. I think that part of the reason why we hold on to something so tight is because we fear something so miraculous, so wonderful and so beautiful won’t happen twice.
One of the most difficult tasks in life is removing someone from your heart.
I understand what’s it’s like to feel small and as insignificant as humanly possible, how it can ache in places you didn’t know existed and it doesn’t matter how many times you try to numb yourself off of reality.. You still go to bed every night wondering what you did wrong, how you misunderstood and how you thought you could actually be happy. The tickler? You’ll even convince yourself that they will see the light. You can spend SO much time over analyzing a situation; trying to put the pieces together, justifying what could have or would have happened, or.. You can just leave the pieces alone.. To come together on its own.
So here are my doctors orders: At some point, you’ll have to realize that some people can stay in your heart, but not in your life. Stop beating yourself up. You are a work in progress, which means you can get there a little at a time, not all at once – Breaking up hurts, but “losing” someone who doesn’t respect or appreciate you is a gain. You may not be able to imagine it now, but there will come a day when you’ll find yourself thanking that person from walking away from you.
Cheer up. You’ll love again and it’ll be beautiful.
